I fear the term self-care has become over-used and over-saturated and has lost almost all meaning.
The internet keeps screaming at us to “treat yourself!” with sweet treats, fancy coffees, spa days, and shopping sprees. It’s fun for a moment, but do these activities do much for your mental health and daily experience of your life?
A lot of what we see on social media is not practicable or sustainable. It’s. Not. Real.
The best ways to take care of yourself are ways that you can stick to, no matter the season of life, your budget, or time constraints that may come your way.
Consistently and intentionally caring for your own mind, body, and soul in a world that is selling burn out and over-consumerism is one of the highest forms of protest.
Are your curious what your life could look like if you truly began to love yourself? Maybe it’s time to take that next step in your journey.
Building Hope is so grateful to be a place for you to explore what healing looks like in your own life.
We’re glad you’re here.

We tend to make things way too complicated. The title of this one is everything — Speak kindly to yourself. Start healing in ways you didn’t know that you needed.
Inside, you’ll find song suggestions and journaling prompts to get you started, along with my own reflections on the power of speaking positively to yourself.
“Speaking Kindly, Healing Deeply” is available for download on Amazon and included in your Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Thank you for spending this time with me. Happy Healing!
